Following the designation of Solo's Adi Soemarmo Airport in Central Java as one of its hubs, the country's largest low-cost carrier Lion Air Group is slated to open new routes from the city to Banjarmasin, Lombok, Palangkaraya, Ujung Pandang and Pontianak.
Lion Air Group president director Edward Sirait said new services would be provided at the Solo airport as a new hub, including additional routes, daily flight frequency and aircraft fleet expansion from two units to six units to maintain its morning service.
